The Well at Oxon Run, a community farm and wellness space in Ward 8 operated by DC Greens, is set to launch its fourth season with a week of free events from March 18 to March 22. Located at 300 Valley Ave SE, The Well at Oxon Run will host workshops, giveaways, and volunteer activities designed to foster deeper connections and celebrate the joy of community.

“The Well at Oxon Run isn’t just a farm. It’s a space for community, learning, and connection,” said The Well at Oxon Run Manager, Charles Rominiyi. “I’m excited to welcome everyone back this season, to host inspiring programs that bring people together, and to build even stronger relationships with the Ward 8 community. There’s so much in store, and I can’t wait to see The Well buzzing with energy and engagement.”

Throughout the week, visitors can participate in hands-on workshops where attendees can learn new skills, like how to start seedlings, blend herbal teas, and even clip and care for fig trees. The farm will offer volunteer hours for those eager to dig into the soil, and there will be multiple giveaways across the week. Special highlights also include a community meet-and-greet with the DC Greens staff and field trips for local youth. Those interested in attending can sign up through the DC Greens website.

Since its inception, The Well at Oxon Run has played a vital role in improving food access and promoting wellness in Ward 8. In 2024 alone, the farm distributed more than 3,400 pounds of fresh produce to the community and hosted dozens of free events across its open season.

The Well at Oxon Run will be open Tuesdays – Fridays, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., through October 31. They are closed Sundays and Mondays. Their popular Community Harvest Days, which invite members to harvest their own freshly grown produce right on site, will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., beginning in late spring.
