As we complete The Well at Oxon Run’s third season, we write to express our profound appreciation of Jaren Hill-Lockridge. Ms. Hill-Lockridge was instrumental to the creation and development of The Well. She helped envision The Well from its inception and played a vital role in its early success. As The Well’s founding Director, she nurtured the farm into a thriving wellness space that centers and celebrates the Washington Highlands, Bellevue, and Congress Heights communities. DC Greens greatly appreciates and honors Ms. Hill-Lockridge’s vision and tireless work on behalf of The Well and the residents of Ward 8. 

We wish to acknowledge the painful events of summer 2023, including the Anacostia Coordinating Council meeting concerning Ms. Hill-Lockridge’s departure. DC Greens apologizes for any statements that caused harm to Ms. Hill-Lockridge or the Ward 8 community. We wish Ms. Hill-Lockridge the very best and look forward to continuing the work of advancing health equity at The Well.
