2024 was a memorable, impactful year for DC Greens. We had significant leadership changes: Tomi ascended to Board leadership in January and Eric joined as Executive Director in July. But far more important is the multitude of ways DC Greens worked to expand food and health equity in the nation’s capital.

In this year’s annual report, we highlight some of what we have accomplished with your support. The work we do at DC Greens would not be possible without the dedication, passion, and generosity of our volunteers and supporters.

This past year, we saw firsthand the difference your contributions made. Our Food Is Medicine program, Produce Rx, reached 804 program participants and was recognized by The Medical Society of DC for its outstanding contributions. The Well at Oxon Run, our community farm in Ward 8, grew and gave away tons (literally!) of fresh produce and launched dozens of new health and wellness programs. We also launched the Community Leadership Initiative, a leadership development program for community members with lived expertise which helps us improve both our reach and our efficacy. And along the way, we forged important new relationships with partners, advocates, and community members.

The results are powerful. Recipients of fresh produce experience not only positive transformations in their health but also substantial changes in how they sit down to eat with their loved ones. Residents near Oxon Run tell us of all the ways their lives have been improved by their enriching visits to The Well.
There is so much more to be done, but we remain energized by our belief that, together, we can build a just and resilient food system in D.C. Thank you for being an essential part of our journey.

Sincerely,
Tomi Ogundimu, Board Chair
and Eric Angel, Executive Director
