Wellness Market Day
Join us for a celebration of movement, creativity, and community!
Wellness Market Days are a once-monthly gathering at The Well at Oxon Run, DC Greens’ community farm in Ward 8. Market Days offer a variety of free wellness programs and activations for participants of all ages. Programs focus on food and nutrition, social connnection, environmental education, exercise and movement, herbalism, and art.
Volunteer hours also run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for those who prefer a tactile way to give back in order to fuel their wellness journeys. Volunteers will have the opportunity to help with seasonal farm tasks, harvesting, and even take some local produce home!
DC Greens is excited to welcome our partners who join us at every Wellness Market Day, bringing additional experiences for all our participants.
NOTE: A film crew will be on site during this event. By attending, you consent to having your image/likeness captured and used for promotional purposes for DC Greens. If any children are accompanying you, you will be given the option of putting a sticker on your child’s shirt to indicate that you do not want your child’s face captured in video footage.
Wellness Market Day Partners
Washington Health Institute: The Washington Health Institute’s Community Health & Wellness Division provides comprehensive wraparound services, including case management, behavioral health, psychosocial support, wellness services, early intervention services, community outreach, and STI testing throughout the Washington metropolitan region.
WHI’s mobile unit offers free and confidential rapid HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis C (HCV) testing to community members. We also provide prevention education, risk assessments, and linkage to care and other supportive services when needed. In addition, they have expanded their Comprehensive Testing Program to include gonorrhea and chlamydia testing. Because these tests require additional processing time (approximately 30 minutes per participant) and use dedicated equipment, they can only accommodate a limited number of participants during each outreach event. To ensure they can continue offering rapid HIV, syphilis, and HCV testing efficiently, only one side of the mobile unit will be dedicated to gonorrhea and chlamydia testing.
For participants interested in gonorrhea and chlamydia testing, please bring a valid government-issued photo ID and proof of health insurance, if (available).

Mamatoto Village is devoted to serving Black women by creating career pathways in maternal health and providing accessible perinatal support services that equip women with the tools to make the most informed decisions about their maternity care, parenting, and lives.
Some of the services offered by Mama Toto include:
- Counseling: offering guided support to individuals or families during the prenatal and postpartum period;
- Doula care: birth planning, labor support, and advocacy to encourage a respectful and positive birth experience;
- Home visits: personalized and culturally relevant care from a Perinatal Community Health Worker to support a healthy pregnancy and parenting journey;
- Lactation support: Breastfeeding assistance, classes, support groups and 1:1 lactation in office or the comfort of your home;
- Free resources about their services, ways to get involved, and engagement
- Interactive wellness activity centered around Perinatal Mental Health; and
- Additional services for wellness coaching and parent education.
