Fig Tree Propagation Workshop
A hands-on learning experience for propagating fig trees!
Join DC Greens during the season opening week at The Well at Oxon Run for a hands-on Fig Tree Propagation workshop led by Charles Rominiyi, The Well at Oxon Run Manager.
Fig tree propagation is the process of growing a new fig tree from a part of an existing tree, such as a cutting, instead of planting it from seed.
Part of Rominiyi’s role at The Well at Oxon Run is to care for and manage the many fig trees on the farm each season and preparing them to produce new fruit. During this workshop, Rominiyi will guide participants through the process of propagating a fig tree. Participants will learn how to properly take cuttings from a fig tree and support healthy growth for the upcoming season. All cuttings during the workshop can be taken home while supplies last.
This class is free and open to participants ages 12+. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult 25 or older. Registration is encouraged, but walk-ups are always welcome.
