Mending, Creating, and Viewing Soil

A deep, clarifying look into creating rich and active soil for plants—from scratch!
By the end of class, attendees can expect to fully understand how to turn food waste, wood, and other organic matter into fully usable soil. This class pairs well with our previous class on Cloning Fruiting Bodies, as this natural process borrows the power of not only fungi, but bacteria too!
Learning how to shift between aerobic and anaerobic micro-processors is the name of the game! We will also explore how to identify if fungi are present within a soil’s network. Easy to understand concepts will be introduced as we lean into both macro & micro biology.
This event is open to participants ages 16 and up. Youth 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or an adult 25+.
To attend this event, please register via our volunteer portal, VolunteerHub. This will require creating an account on VolunteerHub first. If you need assistance, please email us at thewell@dcgreens.org.
