There are a variety of ways to get involved with the DC food movement and support our mission to advance food justice in the nation’s capital!

K Street Farm – Help us grow healthy, local food in downtown Washington DC! Open volunteer hours are on Thursdays from 5 – 7 PM from April through October. Volunteers are welcome to drop-in at anytime during that timeframe. Sign up for a shift hereNo previous experience is necessary, but volunteers should be prepared to spend extended periods of time outdoors and tasks may include bending and lifting 10-25 lbs at a time. 

       Farmers’ Market Brigade – Support healthy food access for all! Volunteer at DC farmers’ markets between June and September.

Professional Volunteers – Help support a healthy, local food system in DC by lending your professional skills and expertise! See our current professional volunteer needs here.

Rooting DC – Rooting DC is a FREE, all-day gardening forum that provides education about urban food production and consumption, to cultivate health and preserve the environment. Sign up here to receive updates on volunteering to support the annual forum coming up in Winter of 2018!
