Growing Garden Teachers 2013
Our Growing Garden Teachers Program aims to equip garden educators with the technical skills, support and curriculum materials they need to run integrated garden science and nutrition education programs at their schools. Most importantly, this professional network of garden educators provides a forum for the sharing of best practices and peer support so essential to every educator.
Over the course of a year, participants attend 11 monthly trainings, with an optional overnight retreat. Each training addresses a different aspect of the role of a school garden coordinator. The program consists of one two-day training, four one-day trainings, six two-hour trainings and two city-wide school garden tours.
The 2013 Growing Garden Teacher Training Program begins March 23, 2013 and goes through February 2014. For more information, contact Sarah Bernardi – sarah@dcgreens.org
